The State of Data in Impact Investing
Nikhil Gehani, MIX
Recent industry research has assessed the performance of impact investments across themes, asset classes and several other dimensions. Yet much of this research focuses on a single point in time, providing only a snapshot. Indeed, little attention has been given to the ongoing data needs of the industry and questions remain around the information infrastructure for impact investing, including: What is the state of data across both the financial and impact dimensions? What are the latest developments in data interoperability across existing sources? What data gaps or asymmetries remain? And, how should we prepare for the growing data needs of the industry? The goal of this panel is to begin thinking about how to support healthy and sustainable growth through better information.
