Secrets from (the) SPRING: Insights on using girl-centered-design to scale businesses in challenging markets
Robert Haynie, SPRING Accelerator
An experimental business accelerator aimed at improving the lives of adolescent girls, SPRING uses human centered design (HCD) as a key process to drive innovation and adaptation. Within SPRING, HCD is taught to and applied by participating businesses as they create products and services to reach more girls and young women. This session will look at how HCD – and “girl centered design” – can uncover challenges, inform solutions, and unlock scale for gender-smart businesses in limited resource environments. SPRING-supported entrepreneurs and its program leadership will provide insights on applying a comprehensive HCD approach to achieve more effective and impactful business models.
