Creative Tensions: Investment & Impact
Shalu Umapathy , IDEO.org
Does money enable or does money complicate? Is impact investing about the mission or is impact investing about business? Creative Tensions is a format for collective conversation whereby participants reveal where they stand on an issue by where they stand in the room. It is an experience that demonstrates three fundamental concepts of human-centered design - empathy, curiosity, and optimism. Guided by experts from OXFAM and a moderator from IDEO.org, investors and entrepreneurs are invited to a 45-minute Creative Tensions exercise that will explore the many vantage points of impact investing and identify areas of tensions in the space. The Creative Tensions exercise will be followed by an interactive share as well as a 30-minute panel discussion highlighting key insights from an exploration on impact investing led by OXFAM, with advisors from IDEO.org, the GIIN, the Miller Center and Skoll.
