Last year at PopTech, I ran into my friend Ken Banks, founder of FrontlineSMS who had just been named a National Geographic Emerging Explorer. This honor marks National Geographic’s recognition of the world of mobile technology as a new frontier. Ken launched a series on Nat Geo’s website called “Mobile Message.” I just interviewed Sara Chamberlain, head of BBC’s Janala initiative, which is a part of the English in Action campaign to teach 25 million Bangladeshis English through an innovative multi-media platform.
