Business Models for Sparking Agricultural Development in Emerging Markets
Laura Ostenso, Fintrac
What are the best strategies for tapping into complex rural smallholder markets in emerging economies? How can these strategies spark achievement of the SDGs? Panelists from agricultural development funders and social enterprises will show how their models combine sustainable business approaches and agriculture development goals to create meaning and money in underdeveloped agricultural markets. Panelists will show how activities like farmer training, behavior change campaigns, and farmer surveys advance marketing models in innovative ways. They will make the case for using business solutions to advance agricultural development and will share best practices for working with public funders to invest in agriculture.
