We came across this pilot program of the W. K. Kellogg Foundation while researching social venture funding opportunities and I was surprised that there was such little media attention focused on this innovative approach to using endowment dollars to invest in capacity building of mission-driven for-profits such as Revolution Foods, Acelero Learning, and Liberty Bank & Trust.  We are looking forward to learning more about the potential to expand and scale similar mission-driven investment strategies while at SOCAP.

The approach goes beyond traditional grantmaking efforts to invest endowment dollars in enterprises that both realize market rates of return and improve the lives of vulnerable children.
